I was born in upstate New York in 1964 and attended our local “Central” School. k-12 my school had less than 300 students total. My parents owned the local grocery store where I started working part-time at the ripe old age of 6 
. I joke that my parents took full advantage of child labor laws!! I learned a great deal growing up in a family business, and one thing that I learned to take seriously was how important it is to provide value and take good care of your customers. In a small town where everyone knows you it is imperitive that you be honest and responsible. One person can ruin your reputation and destroy your business!
After college I worked in many fields. In the early 2000s I started network marketing and was semi-successful. I had to relocate to another community, however, when I lost my job. I had to give up my business because I couldn’t fund it properly. I spent several years reading, watching, and waiting, and when I found GVO and everything they were offering, I knew the time was right to begin again. After 6 months with GVO, and a wonderful growth experience with them, I know that the timing was perfect and that I’m in the right place at the right time.
My philosophy is simple, and you may have heard it elsewhere, but I truly believe that helping others to get what they want is the key to success, but more importantly is the only path to true joy. I truly love helping others and seeing them have success. Having struggled most of my life being underemployed, or unemplyed, always seeking “jobs” and watching people who didn’t work as hard, or make as much of an effort as me advance while I did not, I realized, finally, that a job was not a necessity, but a limiting convenience. When budget cuts came to our county, and I lost my teaching position in June of last year, I spent two unsuccessful months trying to get re-hired. With 50 -80 teachers applying for every position, that was a near impossibility. It was then that my sponsor from another program that I had been in before contacted me. He introduced me to GVO and the timing was too perfect to be a coincidence! I haven’t looked back, since, and I am having great success and enjoying a very different type of life than I was just a year ago!
