I’m Author Dave Cleinman.

Some of you may know me from my internet marketing business(es). They are fun, but writing is my passion. At present I am living in west central Florida with my wife Katrina and son Jordan. I write, I consult for businesses, and I market high quality products. (More on that later)! Born in upstate New York, in the tiny village of Gilbertsville, I graduated in 1983 with 25 in my class! My entire school had 267 kids, k-12 that year.making us the 13th smallest school in the state! I laugh at that, but in reality the education I received in my tiny little school left me well-versed in history, English literature, able to write and speak using perfect grammar and spelling, and able to do math well enough that even though it is my weakest subject, I was elected to teach it in high school! Go figure. English is always where my strengths have been, and continue to be. That is why I am Author Dave Cleinman, and not mathematician Dave Cleinman!

Writing to me is a gift. I love it, I love to teach it, and I love to bring stories to others. I believe that shows through in my writing, and as the future marches on, I feel I am only just beginning to really get the hang of it. To me, at least, that’s a wonderful feeling. My development as a writer must, by necessity, never end. I hope to be pushing envelopes to the bursting point more and more as I bring stories to life.

In addition to writing, I love motivational/self-hypnosis training and am working to bring some of those ideas to the fore in places where they have traditionally not been used, but have always been needed. Self-hypnosis is a simple and powerful methodology for restructuring our thought patterns so that can’ts become cans, won’t becomes will, and desires and passions are pursued, rather than painfully ignored. Instead of letting negativity and difficulty rule our minds, we can take back control and train ourselves to rule our own minds and hearts and generate the results that we want.

How To Kill A Spammer

You probably get multiple spam e-mails, some horrible, some just annoying.  My least favorite are of two types.  Online pharmacies, which invariable send photos of genitals, or use those references in their titles.  Disgusting!  The other are the virus-senders.  In my opinion, both types of spammers should be imprisoned for life.  I keep waiting for our government to pass a law that allows us to kill spammers in self-defense (slight joke there).  Clearly that’s not going to happen.  So here’s what we can do to “kill” these spammers.  The following is a step by step process that requires some caution.

1.  Look at the e-mail.  Read the headers and use them to track the original source of the e-mail.  Often you can contact the sender’s isp and complain.  That can effectively lose them their internet connection for a while.

2.  Part1:  HOVER, DO NOT click, over the link inside the spam-mail.  If it is an actual affiliate link, it should match the standard format of an affiliate link:  affil.site.com, or site.com/affil, or Affili#.site.com, or similar.  If it is a long series of numbers and letters, there may not be much you can do besides trying technique #1 above.

2.  Part 2:  Enjoy this.  It is fun and almost always works.  Do not click the affiliate link.  Copy just the domain name of the affiliate site, such as: www.sickspammer.com Paste it into your web browser window and go to the site.  If the site is legitimate, there will be a link to contact the program owners.  Place a spam report.  Include:

Message headers, The affiliate link(s),  A copy of the e-mail you received.  Then state the action you desire.  I always ask them to remind the spammer that such behavior is undesirable and illegal, and then to ban them from the program.  If you do not hear back from the program owners within 3 days, repeat the spam complaint.

3.  If, after you have made your spam complaints, you still have not heard back from the company, report them to the FTC, the Better Business Bureau, and shame them wherever you can.  Part of the reason so much spam pervades the internet is because company owners do not properly train their affiliates.

4.  Make sure you have top notch anti-virus/anti-spam e-mail software if you are using mail on your own domains.  If you are using Yahoo, Gmail, ymail, or so on, you still need excellent antivirus software.

Following these steps can help cut down on spam you receive, to some degree, but it is more effective at helping the owners of high spam programs understand that their programs are at risk if they allow their members to freely send spam.

On a personal note, I just enjoy fighting back against these jerks!
